Wild West TRUEWAYS is BGaming’s second main-portfolio slot on the TRUEWAYS engine, released on 30 July 2024. On paper it shares almost everything with Elvis Frog TRUEWAYS – six reels with up to 262,144 ways, a 5,000x cap and a Coin Respin on a 48-position board. Three changes make it a different game: Dynamite instead of Lightning, a Sheriff’s Badge that has to be filled before the Mega jackpot can be won, and a richer free spins retrigger table.
Key facts

Unlike the Elvis Frog version, BGaming’s page for this game lists no Chance x2 option.
The Sheriff’s Badge
This is the feature that sets the game apart. Every scatter that lands fills part of a badge to the left of the reels. When the badge is full it changes colour, and from then on the Mega jackpot can be won in the Coin Respin. BGaming’s rules add one detail that matters: the progress is saved between sessions, so the badge you fill on Monday still counts on Friday.
BGaming doesn’t say how many scatters the badge needs. For the later Grand Buffalo Hold and Win, three databases put the figure at 250 – it may be similar here, but we haven’t found it confirmed for this game.
Coin Respin with Dynamite
- Trigger: six or more coins in one spin. The triggering coins and every new coin stay in place.
- Respins: three; each coin or Dynamite that lands in a unit sets the counter back to 3.
- Dynamite: splits a middle or big unit in two. If it lands in a small cell, a random larger unit splits instead, and the original coin appears in both halves.
- Jackpots: special coins award the Mini and Major; the Mega needs all 48 positions filled and a full badge.
Coin values are added together at the end. BGaming doesn’t publish the jackpot values for this game. One casino lists Mini 20x, Major 100x and Mega 1,000x – the same figures review sites give for the Elvis Frog version – but BGaming doesn’t confirm them. The rules of this round type in general are in our Hold and Win guide.
Free spins and retriggers
| Scatters | To trigger | During free spins |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | – | +5 spins |
| 4 | 12 free spins | +12 spins |
| 5 | 15 free spins | +15 spins |
| 6 | 20 free spins | +20 spins |
Elvis Frog TRUEWAYS gives a flat +5 for any retrigger, so long rounds are more likely here. Wilds in free spins carry x2, x3 or x5. BGaming’s rules say the multipliers on a spin are summed and applied to all wins; its game description also says they “stack” in free spins, so whether they build up across the round isn’t clear.
What BGaming said at launch
Announcing the game, Co-CPO Yulia Aliakseyeva said: “Our TRUEWAYS™ mechanic has proven to be a popular addition to our portfolio, gaining unprecedented attention.” In practice this is a refinement of the engine rather than a new one – the badge gives regular players a long-term goal, and the retrigger table makes free spins less of a one-shot event.

Poor fit: occasional players; until the badge is full the Mega jackpot is out of reach, and the rules don’t say how long filling it takes.[/wpremark]
The newest game on the same engine, Grand Buffalo Hold and Win, takes the badge further with cross-device progress and an on-screen counter.
Verdict
This is the most rewarding of the TRUEWAYS games for regular players: the badge saves progress, Dynamite works like Lightning, and the retrigger table can turn a 12-spin round into a long one. The catch is the locked Mega jackpot – a casual session may never reach it. RTP builds differ by casino, so check the game’s info screen for the 96.7% version.
